STAR BOOKS

BDS works with Star Books, suppliers of foreign language books and specialist in literature relating to the Indian subcontinent, to provide basic electronic records for its material.

When you have received a collection from Star Books it will have an associated reference number. Click on the link below and you will be taken to a page where you can enter your collection’s unique code and download a basic set of electronic records that can be temporarily used alongside your library catalogue to track the foreign language material within this collection. When the collection is returned you can readily delete the file and download any further data for collections from this site. Material will be added regularly.

In instances where a library has been in possession of a collection for some time before this service began to operate, you may find the data you require is not available through the BDS interface. Simply contact Star Books on 0207 380 0622. Star Books will then forward the information you require to BDS and it will be made available through this site within 48 hours.


BOOKS ASIA

BDS provides MARC records for foreign language material supplied by Books Asia. BDS has been working closely with Books Asia to develop this service which covers books in Indic languages, such as Bengali, Gujarati and Hindi and Non-Indic languages such as Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Farsi and Vietnamese.

The Books Asia data has been developed through an extensive consultation process between Books Asia and BDS and offers the opportunity for BDS Direct Data Feed customers to load records via single feed rather than loading files separately. Selection of books from Books Asia can be undertaken by the customer or by the supplier. Records are available via the BDS Direct Data Feed in UKMARC and MARC21. Alternatively, files can be obtained directly from Books Asia.


AZHAR ENTERPRISES

BDS works with Azhar Enterprises to provide basic electronic records for its foreign language material.
